COVID Tracking Solution: Royal Bahamas Police Force

The Client

The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) exists under the authority of The Police Force Act 2009. The Police Force provides policing services to all residents and visitors of The Bahamas, an archipelago of over 700 Islands and Cays, strewn over 100,000 (258,998 square-kilometer) square miles of ocean, in the Atlantic. It is safe to say tracking of covid is very important, especially with tourism being the #1 Industry in the Bahamas

The Problem

This was done for the Ministry of National Security in the Bahamas to monitor people who need to be quarantined. Covid-19 has affected the entire world and with Tourism being the number one industry in the Bahamas, we are always looking for ways to keep travel available and safe. This tracking is available for everyone coming in and out the islands of the Bahamas, local and international.

The Solution

We used two main devices created by Amber Connect that are added to a dashboard software and tracked. These devices, placed around the user’s wrists, monitor movement and will notify when a geo-fence has been breached or if the device has been tampered with. The Quarantine Management Portal monitors and identifies violations in a quarantine protocol, and helps governments and health officials track users. The portal shows tracking, if the device is on or off, shows panic alerts and some devices are able to receive calls.
